Real or Fake? Tips for Buying or Making Japanese Kimono

It's time for another video!

Back when I was in the States I presented educational kimono panels over a dozen times, and this is the 10-minute condensed version of them, focusing on what I found people didn't really know about Japanese kimono.

There are a ton of fakes out there, and these clear, simple tips will help you sort out which is which. If you or someone you know is traveling to Japan or shopping online, this might save them some money, and embarrassment!

It's also a handy guide for costumers and cosplayers making Japanese kimono outfits.

As a note, this is aimed at total beginners who don't know any kimono terminology, and I've left out extremely rare modern and historical exceptions. I hope you like it, and thanks for watching!

Hello I have recently purchased a harinui trailing furisode, very lovely. My intention was to make it like a hikizuri (as much as possible) but now I haven't been able to find any detailed instructions I how I can create this. If you know of anything that might help me please contact me. Email: mcdrizzle1@gmail.com
